Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an vicinity close to the command center of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any impact is unclear and the US has remained silent.

Missile Defenses Activated

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.

In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the offensive on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," it added.

It said debris fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some material damage and the death of one civilian.

The United States Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
