LBJ's Historic Point-Scoring Run Comes to a Close, Yet Los Angeles Pull Off Victory Against Toronto.

James understood his monumental run of scoring in double figures was at risk. When it mattered most, though, it didn't concern him.

The right decision meant distributing the rock – and he executed. Consequently, the legendary streak was over.

James's staggering run of 1,297 consecutive NBA regular season outings scoring at least ten concluded during a recent game, as basketball's greatest scorer finished with eight total points in the Lakers' close triumph versus the Toronto Raptors. He delivered the clutch helper, setting up Rui Hachimura for a three-pointer to win the game.

“None,” James replied in response regarding the conclusion of his run. “We won.”

A Selfless Decision Seals Victory

James could have attempted to win the game – and extended the streak – in the closing seconds, but he chose to make the extra pass to Hachimura on the wing. Rui connected, prompting James celebrated immediately.

The History of a Staggering Streak

James's streak commenced back in January 2007. It stood as the longest such streak the league has ever seen: Michael Jordan had 866 straight games with 10+ points, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar recorded 787, and Karl Malone was fourth on the list with 575.
