Performer Refutes Anti-Vaccine Stance After Narrating Contentious Covid Film

The "Taken" star has provided his vocal talents to a new documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccines and praises former cabinet secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr.

The Feature's Contentious Foundation

Called "Plague of Corruption," the documentary is inspired by a bestselling book published by a controversial scientist, who became famous during the global outbreak for assertions that Covid was a result of a problematic version of the influenza shot.

The book's writing partner, the executive producer, has previously authored books with far-right figure Alex Jones. He took to social media hailing Neeson's role in the documentary.

A Strong Denial

The team of Neeson have released a response pushing back against suggestions that he subscribes to anti-vaccine views.

"Everyone can acknowledge that unethical practices might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the comment reads. "Liam never has been, and cannot be described as, anti-vax. His considerable work with Unicef reinforces his consistent support for worldwide vaccination initiatives."

It noted that the performer was not involved in crafting the film's messaging and that inquiries about its assertions are best addressed to the creators.

Key Claims Featured in the Film

As presented, the script spoken by Neeson makes several strong points:

  • It states that pro-vaccine voices have demanded "blind obedience" to health authorities.
  • It posits that "science has become deeply politicized."
  • Kennedy is shown claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they are not adequately tested."
  • The narration further attacks stay-at-home orders, arguing they caused mental anguish that cost thousands of lives.
  • Regarding the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "rushed to market" and seen as "risky trials."

Previous Context and Recent Disputes

The documentary includes a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was later the focus of a formal apology by the network for unbalanced reporting.

Recently, RFK Jr directed the CDC to revise its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between vaccines and autism. This claim is also referenced in the documentary, even with a recent study from the WHO confirming no connection has been found.

An Earlier Position of Support

Standing in contrast to the documentary's message, Neeson has in the past shown strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a charity ambassador.

Previously, he described vaccines as "an incredible achievement," stating that "The debate about vaccines in recent years has lost sight of how much good they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in our history."

The documentary ends with Neeson's voice proclaiming, "This is not the end of our narrative. This is the start of a new chapter."
