Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, demons, and dark forces increasing in influence within the city.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of characters who will separate from the primary party to begin their separate journey, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (played by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three separate parties: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
Per Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for participants who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, entering the secret base, attacking the rogue, and swiping all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and advises that it is a dangerous location.
- Tyranny and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the team enter places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his rescue and will now accompany him everywhere.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that control the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and The healer defied the influential house and the army of fiends they are aligned with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them little choice but to journey toward Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will be absent the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Questers and Schemers parties.
Audiences can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, released on next week.
